Frequently asked Questions

Who can become an ECIU University student ambassador?

Any student can become an ambassador if they are studying at one of 13 member institutions and have previous experience with ECIU University activities (such as micro-modules and Challenges).

As long as you’re interested in contributing to the community, promoting ECIU University opportunities among students and supporting fellow learners, you’re welcome to apply.

How can I become an ambassador? Is there a selection process?

Each ECIU University has its own selection process. However, any active student can apply if their university is currently looking for ambassadors.

To learn more about a specific university’s selection process and criteria, reach out to your local community coordinator or student representative. You will find their contacts on this page.

Do I need to travel as part of my role?

While it’s not obligatory, many student ambassadors get special opportunities to travel across Europe for their role. This may include such events as Student Leadership Training Program, the ECIU University Forum, and ECIU Learner Focus Groups, among others.

For instance, for the ECIU University Forum 2024 several ambassadors travelled to Kaunas University of Technology in Kaunas (Lithuania), while selected representatives participated in ECIU University Student Ambassadors Training Days at INSA Strasbourg (France).

Can being an ambassador help me in my future studies or career?

Yes! Being an ambassador is a great opportunity to develop leadership and teamwork skills for your future career, as well as build lasting connections – not just with other ECIU University learners, but also ECIU University staff members, researchers and external stakeholders from all across Europe.

How long will I be an ambassador?

There’s no set time limit. You can be an ambassador until you graduate or step down whenever you choose.

What can student ambassadors help me with?

Student ambassadors can provide you information on ECIU University and related activities, as well as share their experience with micro-modules and Challenges, or help you during learning opportunities.

If you want to learn more about ECIU University or need guidance participating in one of the Challenges or micro-modules, feel free to reach out to your or hosting university’s ambassador.

I’m travelling for an ECIU University Challenge.
Can I contact the local student ambassador for help?

During a Challenge, both your and local ambassadors can help you with a wide range of questions, such as application process, tips on travelling and local navigation, or finding designated contacts from the hosting university’s administration or staff to support you during this experience.

While local ambassadors can also give you advice on lodging, it’s better to contact the hosting university’s community coordinator for specific help on this matter. You can also reach out to them if you’re unsure whom your question should be addressed to.
